Guests catch fire when the sauna or hot tub they are sitting in is turned up too far. Push the temperature to maximum with someone inside and they ignite within seconds. To cool them, equip the water gun and spray them — a few sprays does it. Yogi's "Cool down people on fire" step needs five of them, and the fastest way is to overheat a sauna on purpose.

Why they catch fire

Fire is a heat event, not a random accident. Every sauna and hot tub has a temperature control, and guests have a preferred setting. Ignore that preference, run the facility as hot as it goes, press Start, and the guest inside catches fire after a few seconds. It is the same mechanic whether it happens by mistake while you are juggling requests or on purpose for the quest.

How to cool them down

Equip the water gun from your hotbar. It is an early research unlock and also earns research points.
Aim at the burning guest and spray. A few sprays is enough.
Hold the trigger rather than clicking — update 1.0.63 added hold-to-shoot for every gun.
The guest cools down and any objective tracking fires ticks up by one.

Burning guests do not stay put, so if several ignite at once, spray the nearest and let the others come to you rather than chasing them across the park.

The "Cool down people on fire" quest

This is one of Yogi's wellness riddles, and it needs five cooled guests. The task text never says where fires come from, which is why it stalls people. The fastest route is to cause them: unlock a sauna or hot tub, place it, repair it with the hammer, wait for a guest to sit down, then max the temperature and press Start.

Turn one sauna up to maximum with a guest inside.
Step outside and stand by the door with the water gun equipped.
Overheated guests come out through the door to you — spray each one.
Let two or three build up before you start so you are not waiting between fires.
Five cooled guests completes the step.

Other guest events that make work

Slipping on puddles and banana peels — mop puddles, and a patch gave the banana slip its own animation.
Saboteurs arrive with a sledgehammer and unplug your pool if you do not stop them; a later patch made them slower and rarer.
The Mafia runs its own loan-and-waves event and fights back if attacked.
Bad-trait guests can push back if you keep shoving them; there is an accessibility setting to turn that off.

Most of these are handled by staff once you can afford them; fire is the one that always needs you and the water gun.
