Waterpark Simulator on Mac: No Native Build, Two Routes

No. Waterpark Simulator is Windows-only on Steam, has no macOS build and is not on GeForce Now. It has run on an M1 Mac through CrossOver, but a player reported it stopped working after an update and the developers have not announced Mac support. The supported routes on non-Windows hardware are a Steam Deck through Proton, or the PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions.

What the Steam listing says

Steam's own data for the game lists Windows as supported and both macOS and Linux as not supported, and the store page carries no Mac system requirements at all. That is the whole official position: there is no Mac build, and there never has been one, including during the Early Access year before the 1.0 release.

The flags get misread in both directions. Some people see Windows-only and assume the game is a PC exclusive, which it is not — see the platforms page. Others assume a stylised, inexpensive game must be light enough to run anywhere. Neither follows; the platform list is what it is.

CrossOver on Apple Silicon: it has run, and it has broken

CrossOver is CodeWeavers' Windows compatibility layer for macOS, and it is the route Mac players have actually used. The evidence that it worked is on YouTube: a streamer played the demo on a Mac through CrossOver in a two-and-a-half-hour session on 8 September 2025, and was back at it on an M1 machine on 26 September 2025 for another hour and three quarters. Both were Early Access builds, before the 1.0 release added multiplayer, the beach map and custom slides.

The evidence that it stopped working is on the Steam forum. On 9 September 2026 a player wrote that they had previously played on a Mac using CrossOver, that it became unplayable after an update about a year ago, and asked whether Mac support was planned. At the time this page was checked there was no reply from the studio and no other player had posted a working configuration.

GeForce Now and cloud streaming

Cloud streaming is the way many Windows-only games reach Macs, so it is worth checking. NVIDIA publishes a public list of every title GeForce Now supports, and Waterpark Simulator is not on it — the list ran to roughly 1,550 games when checked for this page, and none of them is this one under any spelling. Neither the studio's announcements nor the Steam forum mention a cloud version.

That can change without a patch, because getting on GeForce Now is a publisher decision rather than a code change. It is one of the things to re-check on the updates page rather than assume.

Steam Deck and Proton: the route Valve has rated

The game carries a Steam Deck Playable rating, which means Valve has tested it running through Proton, and ProtonDB's community rating is Platinum from 19 reports. That is the one non-Windows route with an official verdict behind it, and the Steam Deck page goes through the four issues Valve flagged and how to set it up.

It does not transfer to a Mac. Proton is a Linux tool and does not run on macOS, so a Playable rating tells you a Deck or a Linux desktop will work — not that a MacBook will. If handheld or non-Windows play is the actual goal, the Deck is the answer the rating supports.

The consoles are the other answer

Waterpark Simulator launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on the same day as Steam, and the Xbox version is included with Game Pass. If the reason you are looking for a Mac version is simply that your only computer is a Mac, a console is the path with full support, weekly patches and online co-op — with the caveat that there is no crossplay, so a friend on PC cannot join you.

  • PlayStation 5: released 31 July 2026, four-player co-op with other PS5 owners.
  • Xbox Series X|S: same date, on Game Pass, co-op with other Xbox players.
  • Crossplay: none, and the developers have said it was never planned.

Has CayPlay said anything about a Mac version?

Not once, in any direction. The post-launch patch notes never mention macOS, and when a player asked on 2 September what the studio had planned, the answer was weekly additions plus a bigger 1.1 update with lazy rivers. The 9 September thread asking about Mac support directly had not been answered when this page was checked.

So the honest summary is: no native build, no cloud version, no announcement, one unofficial route that has worked and then broken, and two supported platforms that are not Windows. The updates page tracks every announcement, so if that changes it will show up there first.
