Waterpark Simulator Mafia: Loans, Waves and Fighting Back

The mafia is an optional questline added in 1.0 that offers dubious loans when you are short of cash — you can decline. Their waves return on a randomised timer, they are no longer missable if you save and quit on the day, and since 1.0.43 they fight back if you attack them.
What the mafia does
Short on funds, need a loan? That is the pitch. The mafia arrived alongside mascots and security staff in the 1.0 update as an optional side path rather than a required objective. It is described as a questline that gives you dubious loans, after which you decide what happens next.
Because the branch is yours, outcomes differ between players — this is not a fixed script, and taking or refusing the loan sends you down different paths. It arrived with a new tool as well, the Plunger gun, part of the same content drop.
If you turned them down
If you declined and later want the questline, the practical advice is to keep playing rather than restarting. Nobody has established a reliable way to force the encounter, so a fresh save is a gamble, not a fix.
What came with the same update
The mafia was one piece of a large 1.0 content drop. Knowing what else arrived at the same time helps place it — this was not a standalone questline but part of a broad expansion of what a park could contain.
- Security staff, who eject unruly guests.
- Mascots, who raise guest hype.
- The Plunger gun, a new tool introduced alongside these.
- A night shift mode extending the day into the evening.
- Multiple character save slots for different looks.
Guests on fire
Fire is a separate guest event with its own page — how people catch on fire and how to cool them. The short version: a sauna or hot tub run too hot ignites whoever is inside, and the water gun puts them out.
Guest traits and the water gun
Fire is one of several ways guests generate work for you. The game runs guests on ragdoll physics and gives some of them bad traits, so managing troublemakers is a core loop rather than an edge case.
The water gun is the tool that ties a lot of this together — it cools burning guests, it earns research points when sprayed at visitors, and it is the standard early unlock recommendation. If you have not unlocked it yet, that is the first thing to fix.
There is also a specific quirk worth knowing: Queso, a special guest, rewards money when pushed like any other bad-trait guest. The super mascot Quackso was added partly because players wanted a reliable good version of that character.
