Waterpark Simulator Task List: Every Objective Explained

The task list is the panel in the top right. It groups objectives under the quest that issued them — the star roads, Yogi's Path of Slight Enlightenment, map quests like Fresh Sea Breeze, and restock chores — and shows a counter for each. Most confusion comes from the prestige wording: "with at least 2 prestige" means the item's own rating, shown as diamond stars under it in the build menu, not your park's stars.
How the panel is organised
Every entry has a quest name on top and one or more objectives under it with a progress counter. The quest name tells you who is asking and what finishing it unlocks; the objective line is what you actually have to do. The same panel shows chores such as restocking vending machines next to multi-step quests, so read the header before the counter.
| Header on the panel | What it is |
|---|---|
| Road to the Third Star / Fourth Star | The star progression. Each road is a batch of objectives; finish the batch and the next star unlocks. |
| Path of Slight Enlightenment | The first block of Yogi's wellness line — saunas, fountains, fires. See the Yogi quests. |
| Zen and the Art of Pool Maintenance | The second Yogi block — the Zen Towel, Channel Energy Through Guests, stones. |
| Get Your Diamond Stars | The tier after five stars: $1,000,000 earned and one Wonder Attraction with at least 6 prestige. |
| Fresh Sea Breeze | A beach-map quest ("Get back to Poseidon's"). |
| Restock … Vending Machine | A chore, not a quest. Refill it from your supplies. |
What the prestige wording means
"Build 5 trash bins with at least 2 prestige" is the objective that stalls the most people at two stars, because it reads like a park rating. It is not. Prestige is a rating on each individual item, shown as a row of diamond stars under the item in the build menu. Old rusty bins are 1-prestige; research the modern bin and place five of those, and the counter fills. The same logic applies to "6 prestige" on the Wonder Attraction and "4 prestige" on the five-star slides.
- Open the build menu and hover the item — the diamond stars under it are its prestige.
- If the item you own is below the number asked for, research the better version at the research table.
- Place the required count of the higher-prestige version. Replacing old ones is fine; the objective counts what exists.
- The counter updates as you place them — no need to end the day.
The star roads, objective by objective
| Objective wording | What to do | Where it is explained |
|---|---|---|
| Build 5 trash bins with at least 2 prestige | Research the modern bin, place five | Prestige |
| Empty your trash bins 5 times | Walk to a full bin and empty it; repeat | Pool and park cleaning |
| Repair 20 buildings | Hammer anything showing a wrench icon | Beginner guide |
| Sell snacks through vending machines | Place a machine, keep it stocked | Staff and vendors |
| Clean smelly guests / remove graffiti | Water gun and paint tools | Research points |
| Tase 15 nasty guests | Taser on vandals, cheaters and non-payers — smelly guests do not count | [Who counts](#tase-nasty-guests-who-counts) |
| Unlock Resort Loungers research | Spend research points on that node | Research points |
| Burn trash bags in recycle dumpster | Research Resort Trash Bins, build the flame dumpster, throw bags in | Recycle dumpster |
| Earn $500,000 and two slides with at least 4 prestige | The five-star gate | 5-star park |
| Build 0/1 Wonder Attraction with at least 6 prestige | The Diamond gate | Wonder Attraction |
The roads scale up: the third-star batch is cheap chores you can clear in a day, while the fourth and fifth lean on research and money. If an objective asks for a building you cannot see in the menu, it is behind a research node — the research points page lists the fastest ways to earn them.
Clean 5 smelly guests: where they come from
New players read this objective backwards — they let the bins overflow and the pools go green, waiting for the dirt to make somebody smelly. It does not work that way. Smelly guests arrive smelly: the green cloud appears on a visitor as they come out of the changing room, and nothing about the state of your park causes it. A thread on 8 September with ten replies did not contain a single dissent on that point.
- Stand by the changing rooms with the water gun and hose them as they walk out.
- More guests means more rolls of the dice: add loungers and chairs to raise capacity, or hand out flyers right after opening.
- If a whole day passes with none, save, quit to the menu and reload — several players found the next day spawned them.
- The August patch notes include "increased the % of smelly visitors appearing when needed", so the wait should be shorter than it was at launch.
Tase nasty guests: who counts
This objective has a thread of stuck players going back to Early Access and still active in September, all with the same symptom: a counter that moved early and then stopped, or never moved at all, no matter how many people they zapped. The confusion is the word nasty. The developer settled it on 4 September for a player on 1.0.75 who had tased every guest in a smelly park and sat at 0/10.
“nasty = vandals, not ticket payers, etc... not stinky”
- Nasty means the bad-trait guests: vandals, saboteurs, cheaters who jumped the gate. Guests with the green stink cloud are smelly, and smelly is the water gun's job.
- Earlier in the thread the developer kept asking whether people were zapping guests inside the park or outside — zap them once they are in.
- The Taser itself comes from the Research Table; the Channel Energy page covers unlocking and equipping it.
- If your park is too well run to attract vandals, one player reported on 7 September that the Mafia event is a reliable way to farm the count.
The same rule applies to Poseidon't's Ocean Enforcement quest, which asks you to tase 10 nasty guests. A player stuck at 0/10 there on 10 September had been zapping smelly guests; when asked on Reddit, the developer account gave the same answer in different words.
“try tazing, vandals, perverts and cheaters after they are inside the park and let me know if it still doesn't count”
That player also found why there were no targets: Mama, one of their staff, was throwing the bad guests out before they could be tased. After letting her go the counter started moving. If a security-minded hire keeps your park spotless of troublemakers, park them elsewhere until the quest is done — the staff page covers who does what.
Yogi's line on the same panel
Path of Slight Enlightenment shares the panel with the star roads, which is why people mix the two up. Its objectives are riddles — "Relax guests in Saunas 0/20", "Build 0/10 Fountain", "Find and bring back the towel", "Channel energy through guests". The literal meaning of each is on the Yogi quests page; the three that stall most runs have their own pages: the sauna and its ladle, the Zen Towel, and Channel Energy Through Guests.
- "Cool down people on fire" — overheat a sauna, spray five guests with the water gun. How guests catch fire.
- "Relax guests in saunas" — every completed sauna request counts one guest.
- "Build 0/10 Fountain" — decoration fountains from the build menu, anywhere in the park.
