Yes. Waterpark Simulator is on PlayStation 5, released 31 July 2026 at 15:00 UTC — the same day as the Steam version. PS4 is not listed. Co-op works with other PS5 players only.

What the PlayStation listing confirms

The PlayStation Store product page lists PS5 as its platform and carries a release timestamp of 2026-07-31T15:00:00Z. The publisher is given as CayPlay Studios, LLC.

That timestamp matches the Steam release date, which makes this a same-day multi-platform launch rather than a console port added later. The PS5 version is not a trailing edition.

PS4 is a separate question

The listing's platform field names PS5 and only PS5. If you own a PS4 and no PS5, do not buy on the assumption it will run — nothing official says it will.

This is a genuinely common mix-up because the game is inexpensive and stylised, which makes people assume it is undemanding enough for last-gen hardware. Price and art style are not the constraint; the platform listing is.

Playing with friends on PS5

Online co-op works and is capped at four players including the host. The cap comes from the developers, who described it as a technical limit they are looking into raising rather than a design decision.

We are looking into that possibility. At the moment it is limited to 4 due to tech limitations

You can only play with other PlayStation players. There is no crossplay with PC or Xbox, and the studio has said it was never planned — their reasoning is that routing multiplayer through a cross-platform service would eventually give the feature an expiry date.

How co-op actually works

One player hosts by loading their own park, and progress saves to the host's world. The other three join through the friends list, work on the host's park, and leave when they are done.

Multiplayer has building permissions, so a host can limit what visitors are allowed to change. A patch extended those permissions to actions taken through the in-game phone as well, closing a gap where guests could build in ways the host had not allowed.

Voice chat is built in. There is no text chat, and the developers explained why: the game keeps your hands on the controller or keyboard almost constantly, and typing does not translate well to console play.

Controller and console specifics

The Steam listing mentions both DualShock and DualSense controller support for the PC build, which tells you the game was developed with PlayStation controllers in mind rather than adapted afterwards.

One thing PS5 players do not get is mods. The roughly 65 community mods on Nexus Mods — max staff stats, auto clean and repair, photo mode, a text chat system — are PC-only. Console platforms do not permit that kind of file installation.

The same applies to trainers and Cheat Engine tables. If you have read about unlimited money or instant task completion in this game, all of those routes are PC-only external tools.

Trophies, the Platinum and the 10 September patch

For the first six weeks the PS5 trophy list was broken: several trophies would not unlock and the Platinum was out of reach. The 20 August patch said outright that the trophy fixes were not in it yet, and the fix arrived on 10 September as PlayStation build 1.0.62.29p, store version 1.000.010. The notes list it in one line — "Achievements have been fixed and are all obtainable (finally platinum)" — and the subreddit filled up with Platinum screenshots the same day.

Trophies you had already earned do not all pop the moment the patch installs. The pattern players reported on 9 September: a batch unlocks after you continue playing, more after finishing one in-game day, and the money trophies fire on the next transaction — one player got all three after buying a single item, another got the spend-money and tips trophies just by flipping night shift on before opening the park. One player reported nothing popping the night the patch landed, money trophies included; the replies they got were the transaction and night-shift tricks above.

  • Enlightenment isn't cheap, the trophy for paying Yogi: save in the morning, pay, let it pop, reload and keep your money. A player did exactly that and paid again later when it was affordable.
  • The trophy for guests fouling your pools: remove every toilet in the park, so they have nowhere else to go.
  • The weekend before the patch some parks would not load at all; the studio traced it to a difference between the porting company's test environment and the live one and says it is resolved in 1.000.010.
  • Still open on the studio's list: black screens at launch and frame-rate drops around certain trash cans, both under investigation with the porting company.

Public lobbies also landed in this patch, so co-op is no longer limited to your friends list. Permissions are set when you create the lobby — the developer's reply to the first "can strangers delete my stuff" question was that the lobby settings let you disable building and the rest before anyone joins. The full list of what a host can lock down is on the multiplayer page, and every console patch is tracked on the updates page.

Price and content

The Steam price is $12.99. Regional PlayStation pricing differs, so check the store page rather than trusting a figure quoted on a third-party site.

Content-wise this is the full 1.0 release: custom slide building, staff management, ragdoll guest physics, a night shift mode, security staff and mascots, the mafia loan questline, and a progression chain running to five stars and then Diamond.
