Waterpark Simulator Xbox: Game Pass and Co-op

Yes. Waterpark Simulator is on Xbox Series X|S and included with Xbox Game Pass. The listing marks it as optimised for Series consoles and confirms online co-op. Xbox One is not named.
Game Pass is the headline
The Xbox store listing includes the game with Game Pass, which makes this the cheapest route in for anyone already subscribed. You are not paying $12.99 twice if you have a subscription and a Series console.
- Xbox Series X|S — confirmed available
- Xbox Game Pass — included
- Optimized for Xbox Series X|S — stated on the listing
- Online Co-op — listed capability
- Cloud — listed
- Xbox One — not named on the listing
The Online Co-op capability on the Xbox listing independently confirms what the Steam categories say, which is useful because store listings occasionally disagree about multiplayer support.
Xbox One is not confirmed
The phrase Xbox One does not appear on the store listing. That absence is meaningful given Series X|S is named explicitly, but it is not a formal statement that the game will never come to the older console.
Who you can play with
Other Xbox players only. There is no crossplay, and this is not a temporary gap waiting on a patch — the developers said it was never planned.
“We never planned crosplay and have mentioned this several times. The main reason we don't do cross-compatibility is that it would pretty much set a deadline for how long multiplayer would work. Since we also hate the whole thing with live services and how they are limited by the costs of servers, we opted for a solution that, as long as the platform exists, you can play multiplayer without worrying we pull the rug on the servers”
Co-op is capped at four players including the host, on every platform. The studio calls that a technical limit and has said they are investigating raising it.
What the game is
A first-person waterpark management sim. You design and build custom slides segment by segment, hire and assign staff, keep pools clean, feed guests, and push the park's rating toward five stars and then a Diamond tier.
Guests run on ragdoll physics, which is the source of most of the game's comedy and most of your workload. Early on you are doing everything by hand — selling tickets, serving food, rescuing drowning guests, fixing broken slides, scooping mess out of pools — before staff take any of it off you.
The 1.0 release added a night shift mode that extends the day into the evening, security staff who eject unruly guests, mascots who raise guest hype, and an optional mafia questline that hands out dubious loans when you are short of cash.
What console players miss
Mods. Around 65 community mods exist on Nexus Mods, and they are all PC-only. The popular ones are labour-savers aimed squarely at the part of the game that gets repetitive once your park is large.
| PC-only route | What it does |
|---|---|
| Nexus mods | Max staff stats, unlimited staff energy, auto clean and repair |
| Photo mode mod | Cinematic free camera for screenshots |
| Text chat mod | Adds the text chat the base game deliberately omits |
| WeMod trainer | Unlimited money, set research points, game speed |
| Cheat Engine table | 26+ options including ticket pricing and one-hit demolition |
Console players do get one thing PC players had to wait for: the game shipped with full controller support from launch, and the developers later added key rebinding for keyboard and mouse users specifically because PC players asked for parity.
The 28 August patch: achievements fixed, graphics raised
Xbox build 1.0.62.2x arrived on 28 August after a 24-hour heads-up from the studio, and it did three things at once: brought the console up to the PC content of mid-August (staff who can quit, the Mafia fighting back, Saboteurs, custom slide naming, lobby settings, a ban button), lifted the overall graphics quality, and fixed every achievement. The warning was given in advance on purpose, so players could unlock what they had already earned before anything changed.
- Full House now triggers at 70 guests, and the save system was reworked for stability in the same patch.
- Not everyone is clear yet: on 9 September one Xbox player was still waiting on the achievements for guests fouling the pools. Treat that as a single report, not a confirmed regression.
- The next console update the studio has talked about is a content sync with PC — the reply when a PS5 player asked for Kade the lifeguard was that it is coming "very soon". Xbox has no separate date.
- Every console patch, with dates and build numbers, is on the updates page; the achievement list itself is on the achievements page.
Free camera and screenshots
A free camera mode was added in an August patch. Pressing F1 hands you control of a drone you can fly anywhere around your park, which is how most of the impressive park screenshots you see were taken.
That was a community request rather than a launch feature, and it landed alongside key rebinding in the same weekly release — a reasonable signal of how responsive the studio has been post-launch.
