Waterpark Simulator Ladle: Where It Is, 'Requires Ladle' Fix

The ladle is in the water bucket inside the sauna, right next to the hot stones. You do not buy, research or unlock it — every sauna comes with one. If the game says "requires ladle", you clicked the stones with empty hands: walk to the bucket, click the top of the handle to pick the ladle up, then splash the stones.
Where the ladle is
Every sauna you place comes with a water bucket beside the hot stones, and the ladle rests in that bucket. There is nothing to buy at Caymart, nothing on the research table and nothing to unlock — if you have a sauna, you already have a ladle. Walk inside, look down at the bucket and pick it up. It is a small target, so aim for the top of the handle rather than the bowl or the rim of the bucket.

The "requires ladle" message
That message appears when you interact with the stones while your hands are empty. The sauna will not let you splash water without the tool, and it does not hand the tool to you — you have to pick it up first.
- Walk to the bucket next to the stones.
- Click the top of the ladle's handle. If nothing happens, step closer — the interaction range is short.
- With the ladle in hand, click the stones. The message goes away and the humidity starts to climb.
- Keep splashing until the humidity dial matches what the guest asked for.
“If you cannot find ladle just click on ghosted ladle in bucket, same as you click on ghosted tools if you misplace them.”
What the ladle is for: humidity, not heat
A sauna guest asks for two things at once — a temperature and a humidity level — and each has its own control. The ladle only moves humidity. Getting the two mixed up is the most common reason a request never completes.
| Guest asks for | What to do |
|---|---|
| Higher temperature | Press + on the temperature control until the first dial goes green |
| Lower temperature | Press − on the same control |
| More humidity | Ladle water from the bucket onto the stones |
| Less humidity | Hit the ventilation button — it drops humidity quickly |
Since update 1.0.43 the sauna gives you a short grace period before the next request if you completed the previous one, so back-to-back demands are no longer instant.
Ladle disappeared mid-request
If the ladle vanishes from your hands, it has not despawned. Go back to the bucket and look for the faint, ghosted outline of the ladle resting in or beside it, then click that outline to get the tool back. This is the same recovery mechanic the game uses for a dropped hammer or squeegee, not a sauna-specific bug.
- Nothing happens when you click the ghost — step closer. The range is short and the outline is easy to miss against the bucket.
- Steam keeps escaping and the humidity never settles — check the door. An open sauna door vents the room, which looks like a ladle problem but is not one.
- The request timed out while you were fetching the ladle — the guest will ask again; start the next one with the ladle already in hand.
Why the ladle matters for Yogi's quests
One of Yogi's wellness quests, Path of Slight Enlightenment, asks you to relax 20 guests in saunas. Every one of those relaxations is a temperature-and-humidity request, so the ladle gets used twenty times over on that step alone. Get comfortable with the bucket before you take the quest. The Yogi quest list covers the whole line, and channel energy through guests is the other step that stumps people.
On PS5 and Xbox
Console players hit the same message for the same reason. The bucket is in the same spot and the ladle is picked up with the interact prompt — aim at the handle exactly as on PC. There is no separate console fix and no setting that skips it. On PC, the auto sauna starter on Nexus Mods starts idle saunas for you; it is PC-only, so console players run every sauna by hand — see the mods guide.
If you got here searching for laddle, ladel or "the sauna spoon", this is the tool: the long-handled scoop in the bucket. The in-game message spells it ladle.
